Scotland’s Leading Animal Charity (the SSPCA) Could Lose 20% Of Their Funding Because Of Lockdown

Scotland’s leading animal charity, the SSPCA, has said that it could lose its funding because of the impact that coronavirus and the lockdown is having on the animal charity.

The SSPCA believes that they could lose up to 20% of their funding because of this situation.

This animal charity could be losing up to almost a fourth of its funding because of the implications that the lockdown is having.

The funding is going down, but the need to help animals from the charity is increasing. The SSPCA is currently dealing with an average of 140 reports for animals every single day throughout the lockdown. This means that the charity has had to deal with hundreds, if not thousands of reports about animals during this lockdown.

Despite their funding being down, the SSPCA still is working to help protect animals, both pets and wildlife. During this time, now more than ever, the SSPCA could do with our help.
