This year is the fifth celebration of Beagle Day; as Beagle Day started in 2017.
What Are Beagles?
Beagles are a dog breed.
They have a similar fur pattern to a tortoise-shell cat. Beagles have white, black and brown fur.
Beagles were first bred in Britain. It's thought that their history dates back hundreds of years. However, modern beagles have only been around for almost 300 years.
Beagles As Pets
Today, beagles are popular pets. They were once used as hunting dogs, but today, beagles are more increasingly kept as just pets.
Beagles are sociable animals, they love being around other dogs and love being around people. They are said to be affectionate and a good dog to have for families. Beagles can live for up to 15 years on average.
