Chocolate is poisonous for rabbits because it contains a chemical known as theobromine. The human body can break down theobromine. However, the rabbit body cannot break down theobromine, which makes chocolate harmful and even deadly for rabbits. Chocolate also contains caffeine.


Therefore, even though rabbits are closely associated with chocolate at Easter time, chocolate is a food that you should completely avoid giving your rabbit!


#2 Iceberg Lettuce

When you think of giving rabbits food, you think of green foods like lettuce are the types of foods which would be healthy for rabbits to eat. But, what is healthy for humans to eat, is not necessarily healthy for rabbits to eat.


In this case, where it’s healthy for humans to eat iceberg lettuce, it is not good for rabbits to eat iceberg lettuce. Iceberg lettuce can be harmful to rabbits because it contains a milky chemical known as lactucarium.


This chemical can be dangerous for rabbits to eat.

Crackers can be a tasty food for humans, but, for rabbits, crackers are no good.


Crackers are ok for humans because humans can break this food down in their digestive system, but rabbits cannot easily break down crackers in their digestive system, which makes crackers bad for them and therefore, you shouldn't give rabbits crackers to eat.


Crackers are not good for rabbits because they are high in carbs.


#4 Avocados




Avocados are another food known to be good for humans, however, avocados are not good for rabbits and are a toxic food to give rabbits.


Avocados are toxic for rabbits because they have a chemical in them called persin which is toxic for your rabbit. Therefore, avocados are a food that you should avoid giving your rabbit to eat, as the persin chemical can cause things like breathing problems in rabbits and can even kill your rabbit.


Avocados can be good for humans, but they are not good for rabbits.


#5 Peanut Butter & Fries



Fries

Another food that you should avoid giving your rabbit is peanut butter & fries.


Both peanut butter and potatoes are bad for rabbits.


Peanut butter is bad for rabbits because it has a lot of fat within it. Peanut butter is also bad for rabbits because a rabbits digestive system cannot properly digest the peanut butter, therefore, it is a food you should avoid giving your rabbit.


Fries are also bad for rabbits because potatoes are bad for rabbits. Potatoes are bad for rabbits because they are bad for a rabbits digestive system, this is due to the carbohydrates and stratch that is within potatoes. Therefore, it is also best not to give your rabbit potatoes or fries to eat as they are not good for rabbits.
