Happy Christmas Eve!
We are just one day away from celebrating Christmas, and today, we are celebrating one of the world's most endangered animals: Amur Leopards!
Amur Leopards are an incredibly rare big cat. These big cats are only found in Russia, China, and possibly North Korea today; they are a subspecies of Leopard. Amur Leopards are so rare, that there are less than 100 of them that survive today. It is estimated that the Amur Leopard population today is only 84 individual cats.
Although they are incredibly rare today, Amur Leopards were even rarer in the past. Their population has increased in recent years, which offers hope to these beautiful big cats. It is thought that Amur Leopards could be the world's rarest cat.
