We are one week into our Christmas advent calendar, and today, we are celebrating one of the cutest animals in the animal kingdom - squirrels!
Squirrels are one of the most successful animals in the world, as they are found all over the world today. They are found in places like Europe and North America. There are many different squirrel species all over the world - it is estimated that there are 289 squirrel species in the world today.
In the Northern hemisphere during the Autumn months, Squirrels prepare for the winter in a variety of ways - they will make a new home by collecting things like leaves to make their homes with, and they will prepare for winter by collecting food and also hiding food so that its kept as reserves to help them through winter.
Squirrels are adorable animals and are fun to watch in the wild!
