We are just a few days away from Christmas, and today we are celebrating one of the world's most majestic and elusive animals: snow leopards.
Snow Leopards are beautiful big cats that are found living in some mountainous areas of Asia and Russia. Snow leopards are only found living in mountainous, rocky and cliff habitats in the wild.
These beautiful big cats live in some of the most hostile habitats in the world. They can be hard to spot in the wild, as their fur coat helps them to blend into their mountainous habitat.
Sadly, snow leopards are vulnerable to extinction today. They have a very low population in the wild - it is estimated that there are only between 4,500 and 6,500 snow leopards living in the wild today. Their very low population makes these beautiful big cats vulnerable to extinction.
Today is a good day to celebrate snow leopards. You can celebrate them by taking a look at our Christmas advent calendar! You can also help snow leopards by adopting a snow leopard with the WWF - here.
