Christmas Advent Day 13: Tigers!

Tiger

Today is the 13th day of our Christmas advent calendar.

There are now just 11 days to go until Christmas Day. Today in our Christmas advent calendar, we are celebrating perhaps the most majestic animal in the animal kingdom: Tigers! Tigers are both majestic and elusive animals.

These gorgeous big cats are very unique; with their gorgeous orange and black stripy fur coat, with white fur on their face, legs and belly. Tigers are found mostly in Asia in the wild, in countries such as India, Bhutan and China. They are also found in Russia. Different Tiger subspecies are found in different countries.

There are six Tiger subspecies left. Those six Tiger subspecies are 1) the Bengal Tiger, 2) the Sumatran Tiger, 3) the Malayan Tiger, 4) the Indochinese Tiger, 5) the Siberian Tiger and 6) the South China Tiger. Many of these Tiger subspecies are critically endangered today and the others are endangered.

There are also 3 Tigers that have sadly gone extinct. Those 3 subspecies of Tiger that have gone extinct are - 1) the Bali Tiger, 2) the Javan Tiger, and 3) the Caspian Tiger.

Tigers are one of the most beautiful and unique animals in the animal kingdom and, the natural world wouldn't be the same without these beautiful cats.
