Christmas Advent Day 12: Lynx!

Beautiful Lynx In Winter

Today is our 12th day in our Christmas advent calendar!

And today, we are celebrating one of the most amazing animals in the animal kingdom - the beautiful Lynx! There are four different species of Lynx in the wild. These four Lynx species are 1) the Canada Lynx, 2) The Eurasian Lynx 3) the Bobcat and 4) Iberian Lynx. They are all found in the Northern hemisphere.

These four different Lynx species are found on different continents in the Northern hemisphere. Out of all of the four species of Lynx, only one is an endangered species and the other three as classed as being of 'least concern'. The Lynx species that are endangered, is the Iberian Lynx.

The Iberian Lynx are one of the world's most endangered animals today. Their population is so low, that it is thought there are only between 156 to over 400 Iberian Lynxes in the wild today. This makes these beautiful cats one of Europe and the world's most endangered species today.
