Today is the 6th day of our Christmas advent calandar; we are almost one week into our Christmas advent calandar.

Magpies are one of the most charismatic and lovely birds in the natural world, they are also one of the most intelligent animals in the world and are a joy to watch.
Magpies which are found in the UK are called Eurasian magpies. Eurasian magpies are found throughout most of the British Isles, however, they are absent throughout much of Scotland.
Eurasian magpies are also found throughout most of Europe and much of Asia.
We are lucky to share our world with these amazing and intelligent birds. Today's advent calandar is a day to celebrate magpies.
