Ectophylla alba: The Honduran White Bat


The Hounduran White Bat - also known as the Ectophylla alba bat, is one of the cutest and most unique animals in the world today. They stand out, with their gorgeous white fur, yellow nose and yellow ears.

Honduran White Bats belong to the Mammalia class of animals, as they are mammals. And they also belong to the Phyllostomidae family. The Phyllostomidae family are a group of bats which are found in both North America and South America, these bats are commonly known as Leaf-Nosed Bats. There are many different types of bat species which are part of the Phyllostomidae family, including a species of bat known as the Common Vampire Bat, which are a brownish colour, rather than the striking white and yellow colours that the Hounduran White Bats are.
