Signing Up For Earth Hour 2020! 🌍🕯️


Earth Hour 2020 is nearly upon us!

This year, Earth Hour 2020 will take place on the 28th of March at 8.30 pm your local time and it will last for an hour.

What Is Earth Hour?

Earth Hour started in Sydney Australia in 2007. Since it began in 2007 it has since grown to be a worldwide event, with now 185 different countries taking part in Earth Hour every year!

The aim of Earth Hour is to draw attention to wildlife, the natural world, the environment and climate change.

How Do You Take Part In Earth Hour?

There are different ways that you can take part in Earth Hour 2020. You can either take part in Earth Hour 2020 at home, or at an event.

During Earth Hour you turn off all your lights as a way to raise awareness about the planet, the environment and the animals that we share this world with. The Earth Hour website has ideas of what you can do during Earth Hour at home - you can find ideas about what to do during Earth Hour here.

Why Should You Take Part In Earth Hour?

It's good to take part in Earth Hour for a number of reasons:

. You get to unplug and relax from a busy world

. It's an hour relaxing or having fun

. You get to raise awareness about the environment

. You get to raise awareness about climate change

. You get to raise awareness about wild animals, including endangered wild animals

. You get to raise awareness about the Sixth Mass Extinction

. It lets you raise awareness about the biodiversity crisis

. It lets you raise awareness about the climate emergency

. You get to feel part of something; you get to connect with the world

. It makes a positive difference in the world
