19 Scottish Wildcats Released Into The Wild!

There is great news for the critically endangered Scottish wildcat, as 19 Scottish wildcats have been released into the wild in Scotland!

The wildcats were released in the Cairngorms National Park in the Scottish highlands, offering hope to one of the world's most endangered and elusive animals.

The Scottish wildcat lives in woodland and grasslands, showing the importance of woodland and grassland habitats for our wildlife, and in this case in particular, our endangered wild animals.

This is the first release of Scottish wildcats, more releases of the cats are expected to take place in the near future. It is expected that another release of Scottish wildcats will take place during the summer of 2024.

The release of these beautiful cats, and the near future releases of more cats, is exciting and hopeful news for the critically endangered highland tiger.

Scottish wildcats are also known by their cool nickname the highland tiger. Reintroduction conservation projects like this will help to rewild Scotland, hopefully, with the shown success of the reintroduction of these cats, more rewilding of the Scottish landscape will happen in the future.

Rewilding and protecting our habitats is important to saving our endangered species, and in saving other species an habitats overall.
