Swordfish

The Green Sawfish is a member of the Pristidae family. The Pristidae family is a group that consists of other Sawfish species.

These marine animals are also known by two other names: the Longcomb Sawfish and the Narrowsnout Sawfish.

Where Are These Marine Animals Found?

These unique marine animals are found in the Indo-West Pacific. They are found off of the coast in several countries that are beside the Indian Ocean. These countries include: Australia, Indonesia and Saudi Arabia.

What Is The Habitat Of Green Sawfish?

Green Sawfish are solely marine animals. They live in two distinct marine types of habitats: 1) marine neritic and 2) marine intertidal. The marine neritic habitat is a shallow part of the ocean, therefore, Green Sawfish are found in the shallow parts of the Indo-West Pacific. And the marine intertidal area of the ocean is the area of water that is on the marine shoreline.

What Is The Population Trend For These Animals?

The Green Sawfish population is decreasing.

What Is The Conservation Status Of Them?

They are classed as critically endangered.

What Threats Do The Green Sawfish Face?

The population of the Green Sawfish is unknown, but due to them being classed as critically endangered they must be at risk of extinction.

There are many threats that these animals face. Two of the main threats that the Green Sawfish face are: climate change and pollution.
