How To Help The Environment By Changing To Eco-washing 🌼

Eco-Washing

You can do things to help the environment through making small changes in your own home, such as changing how you do your washing.

Eco-washing, is one example of how you can make a small change in your home life to help save the environment.

What Is Eco-Washing?

Eco-washing is a way to do your washing which saves both energy and water. Therefore, by using an eco-wash, you will be emitting less co2 and wasting less water. The average washing machine uses 50 liters every time you put on a washing, which is the equivalent of 25 2liter bottles of fizzy juice. An eco-wash will help you to save most of this water, as the average eco-wash only uses 3 liters of water. Therefore, if you do an eco-wash every time you do a washing, then you will be saving 47 liters of water with every wash.

Why Is It Important To Save Water?

Saving water helps the environment, and us. One of the main reasons that we should be preserving water is because water is a valuable resource. Many of the worlds inhabitants already suffer from water scarcity and poor water quality. Water scarcity affects every continent on the planet, therefore, when we waste water or use more water than is necessary we contribute to the problem of water scarcity, which effects animals, people and the environment.

Droughts can also be deadly for the environment and droughts are becoming worse because of climate change. One of the main causes of the recent Australian bushfires was drought. Saving water can help preserve a scarce resource - especially when there is now a water crisis - only around 1% of the Earth's water is drinkable and accessible for us, according to the UN 2.2 billion people in the world today lack access to safe drinking water.

Therefore, saving water is important because billions of people already don't have access to clean drinking water. Saving water is also important because the world is experiencing more droughts because of climate change, and, saving water is also important because animals also rely of safe drinking water and the environment needs water from rain to function properly.

Just simply changing to an eco-wash can help you save a lot of water every year. In just the UK alone, we use an estimated 360 billion liters of water just by using our washing machines - imagine how much water we could save collectively if we all changed to using an eco-wash.

Saving water isn't the only way we can help the environment through changing our washing to an eco-wash...

How An Eco-Wash Helps Us To Rescue Our CO2

An eco-wash also helps us to reduce our co2, and therefore, it helps us to reduce our carbon footprint, which in turn can help us to reduce climate change. It is estimated that every year each household emits an average of 51kg of CO2 per year from their washing machine. By changing to an eco-wash, you can significantly reduce the amount you emit.

What Other Ways Are There To Do An Eco-Wash?

There are other ways that you can do an eco-wash besides changing the setting of your washing machine to an eco-friendly setting.

Changing your washing machine to an eco-friendly setting is the main way that you can become more eco-friendly with your washing, but it isn't the only way - there is another way that you can become more eco-friendly and therefore, help the environment through doing the washing.

The other way that you can become more eco-friendly and do an eco-wash to help protect the environment by doing your washing is by changing to products that you use when doing the washing. Changing your detergent to an eco-friendly detergent is an easy and quick way to help the environment through the washing that you use. You can find eco-friendly detergents in supermarkets like the Coop, where they have their own eco-friendly detergents.

Two Simple Ways To Help The Environment

These are just two simple ways that you can help save the environment through the washing that you use: 1) change your washing machine setting to an eco-wash, and 2) change your detergent to an eco-friendly one. It's a simple change in the home which requires minimal effort, but can have a tremendous amount of positive change for the environment.
