Wild animals in circuses are now banned in England from today onwards!
Wild animals in circuses are now illegal to use in England as part of circus acts. The move comes after legislation was passed last year after animal rights campaigners fought for years to ban animals in circuses due to the animals being exploited. Thankfully, after years of successful campaigning to ban animals in circuses, campaigners have won!
Last year, in July 2019, the Wild Animal in Circus Bill passed in the House of Parliament. This legislation now forbids any circus to use animals in their acts, and therefore, this forbids animal exploitation in the name of circus acts.
