Australia right now is going through an animal massacre: it's thought that as many as ONE BILLION animals have been killed as a result of the Australian bushfires. So far, there have been half a billion wild animals confirmed killed because of the Australian bushfires.
It is a devastating and heartbreaking disaster.
All types of animals have been killed because of the Australian bushfires, from Koalas to Kangaroos, and from reptiles to birds. Experts think that the Australian bushfires have pushed many species to the brink of extinction.
One of the wild animals most devastated by the Australian bushfires has been the Koala. It's thought that the fires have killed a THIRD of Koalas in Eastern Australia. At least thousands of Koalas have been killed so far by the fires, sadly these animals have faced a cruel death by being burned alive.
The destruction upon animals and the natural world within Australia has been and is so bad that it is thought that Australia's wildlife might never recover.
The Collapse Of Australia's Ecology?
In July last year, it was already stated that Australia's ecosystems were collapsing because of climate change.
What we are now seeing in Australia is a more devastating and rapid collapsing of Australia's ecosystems and wildlife, and, it may be something that the country never recovers from. In just a short period of time, we've have seen probably the worst massacre and destruction of wildlife and the natural world that any of us have ever seen - if we don't take climate change seriously, then these scenes will not only play out in Australia, but across the rest of the world.
How Long Will The Fires Last For?
The fires have already been burning for four months; they have been burning since September, so the fires are now into their fifth month.
Worse still, there seems to be no sign of an end to them. The Australian Prime Minister said yesterday that the fires could go on for months.
Therefore, the Australian bushfires could last a least half of a year.
