Willow Tit

Willow Tits have declined by an alarming 94% since the 1970s. Willow Tits are one of the UKs rarest wild animals and bird species. This bird species has declined rapidly since the 1970s; the Willow Tit has declined by 94% since then. Therefore, since the 1970s, Willow Tits have almost been driven to extinction due to humans. Today, there are only 3,400 Willow Tits remaining in the wild. This means that they are one of Britain’s most endangered wild animals and one of our rarest bird species. Why Have Willow Tits Declined So Rapidly?

Willow Tits have declined so rapidly due to a destruction of their woodland habitat. A change in their woodland habitat has also played a significant role in the decline of Willow Tits. The destruction of damp young woodland and wet scrub has resulted in a significant decline in these wild animals. Willow Tits can now mostly be found in England and Wales; they can also be found in small patches within Scotland.
