The Giant Panda

The Giant Panda is one of the most recognizable and unique wild animals in the world today. The Giant Panda is so iconic, that they are the symbol of the wildlife conservation charity - the WWF.

The Status Of The Giant Panda

Giant Pandas have been one of the worlds most well-known endangered species. For many years, Giant Pandas have been known all over the world for their endangered species status. However, in 2016, news broke that the Giant Panda was no longer classed as an endangered species.

Giant Pandas may no longer be classed as an endangered species. However, their numbers are still very low. There are now 1,864 Giant Pandas left in the wild today, according to the WWF. This means that Giant Pandas are classed as a species which is 'Vulnerable' to extinction.

Although the Giant Panda is a Vulnerable species, there is good news for these animals, as their numbers have been increasing in recent years. Because their numbers have been increasing in recent years, it means that the Giant Panda has been taken out of the endangered species group.

The Giant Panda Offers Hope For Other Endangered Species

The Giant Panda population offers hope for other endangered species. With the Giant Panda population increasing in recent years, it shows that when we work towards saving an endangered species - we can do it. Therefore, this offers hope for other endangered species. If we can increase the Giant Panda population, the when can increase the population of other wild animals which are endangered now, and in the future.

Threats Facing The Giant Panda

However, there are still threats facing the Giant Panda. There are two main threats facing Giant Pandas. The first one is habitat loss: Giant Pandas are threatened with their forest home being destroyed. The second one is hunting: these beautiful animals have also declined in the past due to people hunting them. Both of these things are still a threat to Giant Pandas.
