Today is International Bat Day: Happy International Bat Day!
International Bat Day falls annually on the 17th of April every year. It is a day to celebrate the worlds cute and adorable bat species!
Late April is chosen as International Bat Day, because, bats are beginning to emerge from hibernation - just like many other wild animals right now.
Other wild animals which are coming out of hibernation, are animals like Hedgehogs. Therefore, it is an important and eventful season right now.
In the UK, there are 18 bat species. All of these 18 bat species are protected by law, and their habitats are also protected by law.
