2019 Was Europe's Hottest Year On Record, According To A New Report šŸŒ”ļø

2019 was Europe's hottest year on record, according to a new report.

The report was published by the European State of the Climate has published their annual report of the climate throughout Europe for 2019.

The report is called the ' European State of the Climate 2019' report. The report says that Europe experienced it's warmest year on record last year. However, although the report says that Europe experienced its warmest year on record last year, it also says that last year wasn't significantly warmer. In other words, the previous warmest year on record for Europe hasn't been beaten by a significant amount.

There were a number of key findings in the report about the climate of Europe during 2019, compared with other years.

These findings were:

. Europe experienced two major heatwaves last year

. Last year was the warmest year on record for Europe

. Some places seen a temperature increase of 3c to 4c

. European countries saw record-breaking temperatures

. All four seasons last year were warmer than average

. Last Summer was the fourth warmest since 1979

. 11 of the 12 warmest years have occured since 2000

. The last four decades have seen warming in Europe

Overall, when it came to the climate, the report said that Europe was not just warmer last year, but that it was warmer these past four decades, particuarly since the turn of the millenium.

If a warming Europe continues, what will be the consequence to wildlife?

In last years heatwaves, wild animals were impacted by the weather. For example, it was reported that hundreds of songbird chicks starved to death because of the heat last year. Perhaps some wild animals won't be able to evovle quick enough to cope with the warming weather in the future.

While many animals could be harmed by a warming world, other animals could also benefit from a warming planet - some animals could cope with a warming world a lot better than others, while it could be detrimental to others.

We have only gotten glimpses of how a warmer planet will be for humans, animals and the planet. How will it be in the future?
