This Type Of Animal Is Most At Risk Of Extinction...


Amphibians

We are aware of many animals that are at risk of extinction, for example - the tiger. However, there are species of animals which are threatened with extinction who are given less attention and are less well-known as endangered. One such type of animal is the type of animal which is most at risk of extinction...They are the most threatened animals with extinction.

These animals are amphibians.

According to the IUCN Red List, amphibians are most at risk of extinction. They are more at risk of extinction than mammals and birds combined. Almost half of all amphibians, 40% of them, are at risk with extinction. This is compared to 25% of all mammals, and 14% of all bird species. While 31% of all shark and ray species are threatened with extinction, and 27% of all crustaceans are threatened with extinction.

The threat of extinction does not just exist in animal species, it also exists in plant species. According to the IUCN Red List, 34% of conifer species are at risk of extinction, meanwhile, 33% of coral reefs are at risk. Providing evidence that it is not just animal life with is at risk here, it is all types of biodiversity which is being threatened with the Sixth Extinction.

By far, amphibians are the most threatened. Yet, they are given the least attention when we focused on endangered species.
