The mountain gorilla is one of the world's most endangered species; they are critically endangered. Because the mountain gorilla is critically endangered, it means that they are at risk from becoming extinct.
Their numbers were around 800 before hand. Now, through successful conservation work, these animals have a population of over 1000 in the wild. Therefore, they are proving to be something of a conservtion success.
