The Fashion Industry Is Finally Turning Its Back On Fur?

Racoon Fur Industry

The fashion industry has been the only thing keeping the fur industry going. It, the fashion industry, was once an industry that glamorized the use of wearing real fur. Wearing real fur has been seen as a symbol of glamour, wealth and fashion by the fashion industry; but the reality of how that fur has been produced has often been ignored and silenced by the fashion World. The fashion World has hidden the truth of fur.

It would be hard for the fashion World to glamorize wearing real fur if they showed the public what really happens to animals who are used and killed for their fur. There is no glamour in the production of fur - it is a cruel and inhumane industry, which doesn't care about the animals that it uses.

The sole purpose of the fur industry is in maxing profits; while projecting to the public an illusion of glitz and glamour, for those who wear fur.

What is glitzy and glamorous about wearing dead animal skins?

For all fur is, is dead animal skins, dead skins aren't glamorous. It's a weird notion that wearing dead animal skins would make someone glitzy and glamorous, yet that is the impression that those who wear real fur give.

Often and especially by celebrities.

Which means when a celebrity wears real fur, they encourage other people to wear fur. It's an example of how idolizing celebrities can be a negative force in society.

Our ignorance of how animals are treated for the fashion industry can also be a negative force in society.

If we become ignorant and not knowledgeable about how animals are kept for fur, the conditions that they have to live in, the cruelty and distress that they suffer, and of course the death they have to endure, how can we ever put an end to it? Knowledge is power.

Our Pound Is Our Vote

There is another thing that is powerful - our pound. More precisely; what we purchase when we shop. When we shop for things, we increase their demand and supply. Therefore, if we purchase real fur, we increase its demand and supply. If we boycott it, however, it will stop being sold. London Fashion Week admitted that part of its reason for banning real fur, was because there wasn't a demand for it. We have more power than we think. We shouldn't wait for things like the fashion industry to guide what is acceptable and what is not - we should guide them to show what is acceptable and what is not acceptable.

Real fur isn't acceptable. It is cruel, barbaric and not essential in the modern World. The only reason that wearing real fur still exists, is ignorant vanity. We don't need fur to survive, and if we want to wear fur, there are plenty of alternatives for us to wear, alternative that don't harm or kill animals.

No one needs a real fur coat, except for the animals that the fur coats belong to.
