There is a warning by scientists that bee populations could be wiped out. Bumblebees have became threated with extinction because of a new pesticide. The pesticide is known as the neonicotinoid chemical. The neonicotinoid chemical poses a threat to bumblebees. The main threat that it poses is that reduces the queen bees ability to lay eggs. If the queen bee isn't laying eggs, then that poses a threat to the survival of the species, as it means that there will not be future generations of bees. Or, at least fewer generations of bees. This, in turn, would affect, as bees are very important to the ecosystem. They are very important to the ecosystem because they help pollinate things such as flowers and crops. Bees are responsible for pollinating many of the foods that we eat. Including foods such as fruits and nuts. Therefore, many of the foods that we eat, would disappear without the help of bees pollinating them.
