We often see intelligence as something which solely exists in human beings, but, did you know animals were intelligent too?
Some animals are more known for their intelligence than other animals. Such as Chimps, Elephants, crows and dogs are all known for their intelligence. But, animal intelligence doesn't stop there. Animal intelligence is found in the largest of animals, to the smallest of animals. As a society, we often underestimate the intelligence of most animals. But, here are four animals that you probably didn't know are clever! Here we are going to look at animals which are surprisingly clever!
#1 Rats Rats get a bad rap, unfairly. These little rodents are more intelligent than most people realize.
Rats are found to be empathetic animals, altruistic, socially intelligent and, as Harvard Business Review reports, can outperform people in certain tests. In other words, rats can be smarter than people. Rats also have other emotions, besides empathy. Such as love, fear, joy and happiness.
#2 Mice Mice are similar to rats in many ways, including on the intelligence scales. Like rats, the hidden lives of mice show that they are highly social animals.
They bond with other mice, in a similar way that we bond with other humans. And, like other animals, have emotions, such as fear, love, jealousy and happiness. Like other animals, such as dogs, they can also perform tricks. Check out the video below to see.
#3 Pigs Pigs aren't widely known for their intelligence. However, pigs are more intelligent than dogs. They are social animals, who show much cognitive awareness and ability.
They are thought to be smarter than young human children. And, feel the same emotions that we do, such as love, fear, anxiety and happiness. Check out this video below, to see how smart pigs really are.
#4 Bats Bats are another animal which are very misunderstood animals. However, they are fully conscious and emotionally rich animals. Displaying emotions such as happiness, love and fear. They are also very intelligent animals. Here are some ways that bats are intelligent.
