The Five Species of Rhino

There are five species of Rhino. These five species of Rhino, come from two continents; Africa and Asia. These are known as the Asian Rhino and the Africa Rhino. The Asian Rhino and the African Rhino are different species.

There are two species of African Rhino and two species of Asian Rhino. The two species of African Rhino are known as the Northern White Rhino and the Southern White Rhino.

There are no Northern White Rhino's left in the wild. There are now only two Northern White Rhino's left, both are female.

There are three species of Asian Rhinos. The three species of Asian rhinos are the Greater One-Horned Rhino, the Javan Rhino and the Sumatran Rhino. The Asian Rhinos, like the African Rhinos, are critically endangered.

There are only just over 3,000 Asian Rhinos left in the wild.

With the Greater One-Horned Rhino, there is thought to be around 3,000 of them left in the wild.

According to the WWF, the number of the Javan Rhino in the wild has dropped to there only being 63 of them.

The other African Rhino is the Southern White Rhino. The Southern White Rhino is a critically endangered species, there are only around 5,000 Southern White Rhino's left in the wild.

Sadly, both the Asian Rhino and the African Rhino are critically endangered. This means that they are at serious risk of becoming extinct.

Experts have warned that Rhinos could become extinct within 10 years.

We could see the extinction of Rhinos in our lifetime if nothing is done to stop their demise.
