How To Help Animals In The Garden This Summer

There are different ways to help animals throughout the different seasons. The various seasons require different challenges and difficulties for wild animals. However, there are also ways that you can help animals face these challenges. We are going to look at some simple ways that you can help animals in the garden this Summer.

#1 Put Out Some Water

One of the most helpful ways that you can help animals throughout the Summer, is to put some water out in your garden. This can be in the form of a birdbath, or in the form of a small dish of water. This can help garden wildlife, such as hedgehogs, birds and foxes.

#2 Put Some Food Out

Like water, garden wildlife needs food to survive. Putting out a bird feeder, for example, can help garden birds survive throughout the Summer. Instead of putting slug repellant down, create an opening where hedgehogs can get through your garden - they will eat the slugs.

#3 Plant Flowers

Flowers help many small species of insects, especially species such as bees and butterflies. Planting flowers will help animals like bees and butterflies. This will also bring your garden to life - there aren't many animals more beautiful or welcoming than butterflies.

#4 Create Some Shade

The warm weather can be too much for animals. Planting shrubs, bushes and trees gives wild animals shade from the sun. It will help to cool them down and give them a break from the sun. Having a pond can also help with this; as a pond gives animals like frogs and toads shelter from the sun.
