There are two weeks to go until the winter solstice. ❄️🧙♂️
Two weeks to go until midwinter.
Midwinter, the winter solstice, is on Wednesday the 21st of December. It will be the shortest day of the year in the northern hemisphere when the day is the shortest and the night is the longest.
The winter solstice helps us to connect to the seasons, the natural world and the universe - it reminds us that we are connected to the seasons and universe, and that we are part of something much bigger than ourselves.
The sun is a central part of the winter solstice, it feels magical to be connected to the sun on a midwinter's day.
Watching the sky as the sun is setting in the winter is one of my favourite things about the season; it's even more magical to watch the sun setting on a midwinter's day, the sky looks beautiful when the sun sets during the winter, and it's even more special during the winter solstice through feeling connected more to the winter season and nature.
The winter solstice is a reminder to appreciate this beautiful earth we live on - it's sun sets, skies and stunning natural scenery.
It's also a good time to appreciate the winter season and the uniqueness it has to offer - the crispy frost, the rolling fog, the falling snow, the beautiful trees, the stunning sunsets, are all things to enjoy and appreciate about the winter season, and, of course, the winter solstice.
The winter solstice is also a reminder that the days will slowly start to get longer once again, and we are heading towards spring.
But before spring arrives, and winter is here, let's enjoy the winter season, and let's enjoy the winter solstice. ❄️🧙♂️
